Walk to School Week

Dear Parents and Carers,

It is National Walk to School Week. To help pupils reach their recommended minimum of 60 minutes of physical daily activity, why not encourage your child/ren to participate this week by travelling to school without the use of a vehicle.

As an extra incentive, this week, we will award pupils 10 house points for each day they travel to school by walking, cycling or using a scooter. Please note, pupils who travel by school bus, can earn their points by completing a small, daily walk around the playground.

During the morning drop-off, Year 6 pupils asked families how they travelled to school today. The results were:

– Car = 56%
– Walk = 24%
– Cycle = 1%
– Bus = 19%

They will ask families the same question on Wednesday of this week – hopefully, fewer pupils will travel to school by car for the rest of the week.

Thank you for your continued support.
