Dear parents/guardians,
A reminder to complete the permission slip linked below
As part of our topic ‘Town Vs Country’, the pupils in Dosbarth Morlo would like to visit Haverfordwest town to compare with features of the country. The trip to Haverfordwest will be on Tuesday 4th February 2025. The pupils will travel by bus and we will firstly visit Haverfordwest library taking in the shops, buildings, bridges and many things about town life. In the library, we will have a class library session including a tour, how to use the self service machines, a talk about the types of books available, a visit to the gallery to see the artwork exhibition, a story time session and the opportunity to borrow books. If your child is already a member of Pembrokeshire libraries can they please bring their library card on this day for the trip. If they are not library members please complete the form sent home with your child to sign up for free so that they can borrow a book.
We will then have a packed lunch in the community room and some free time in the library with activities. (Please notify the school a week before if you require a free packed lunch from the school canteen).
For the second part of the trip we will take a walk up the pedestrian path near Withybush hospital where we will be conducting a traffic survey with our clipboards and pencils collecting data of the types and number of transport going past. Back at school, we will interpret the data and use it for data handling and to analyse our traffic study, comparing it with the numbers in the country.
The bus will then collect us from Withybush Hospital bus stop and we will return back to Hook School by the end of the school day.
The cost of the trip is £4 and is payable via the school bank account.
Please complete the permission slip linked below, unless you have previously done so.
